Working with Ards and North Down Borough Council (ANDBC) and AECOM we have prepared a development framework for the redevelopment of Bangor Waterfront. The framework focuses on a 2 mile stretch of coastline from Skippingstone Beach (just beyond Pickie Fun Park) to Banks Lane at Ballyholme Beach.
Bangor is a town with all the ingredients to become a hugely successful seaside resort, so we're excited to have been able to bring our expertise in coastal regeneration to this project. As always, our part in creating the masterplan has involved engagement and co-design - which included an online survey completed by over 2,000 members of the public and workshops with local stakeholders and public to envision a bright future for the area.

Hemingway Design played an integral role in the development of our ambitious plans for Bangor Waterfront. This is an extremely exciting and innovative project, with the vision to seamlessly connect the waterfront into the town, creating a unique environment of public spaces, activities and attractions that speak of local stories to a global audience. Wayne and the team brought significant experience and insight, challenging us to look at what we have, to build on our strengths and create something uniquely of Bangor. Wayne’s passion was infectious and looking at the project through Wayne’s eyes gave us the confidence to think outside the box and do things differently.
