18 months of Green Hills Blackburn

Green Hills Blackburn was the first time we had the opportunity to design a housing project in North East Lancashire - a place close to our hearts as Gerardine and Wayne's motherland. It's now been just over 18 months since the first residents started moving in so for us this means we get to understand how the place works not just as housing but as a community, as a neighbourhood and as a place to live and grow.

In the 18 months since the first key was turned in a front door; the first football was kicked around a Green Hills garden and the first family photo was placed on a mantelpiece, the development has won a series of awards, gained national attention in the press and been visited by Father Christmas for the village green Christmas lights switch-on.

We're really pleased to see the place in action and can't wait to see how its community shapes it in the future. The photos above show how it's looking at this early stage in what we believe will be a long life as a place that sets new high standards for developers across the country.
