Working alongside NEW Masterplanning and Urban Movement, in 2021 we completed a Vision for Kidderminster town centre.

We believe that by 2040, Kidderminster will be known as a purposeful, forward-thinking town centre. A sustainable place that celebrates its heritage and natural environment. An independent place that attracts entrepreneurs and creative thinking. A social place enlivened by its town centre living, public spaces, café culture and evening economy. An inclusive place that cares about the health, welfare and education of current and future generations. A friendly place that understands how to relax and enjoy life.

This is an optimistic Vision for Kidderminster town centre. Placing culture, learning, health, the environment and most importantly people at the heart of the town. It is a vision that celebrates Kidderminster’s heritage, bringing historic buildings back to life. It is an inclusive vision, by and for local people, almost 2000 of whom contributed their views and ideas.

The Govt made the Levelling Up Fund announcement last week and we’ve got another £17.9m to support the works to the Town Hall, buy the Piano Building and get a boutique hotel operator in there and also to improve the towpath links to green spaces out of town. We used the Vision heavily to demonstrate how it all fitted together and I’m sure that will have made a big difference to us being successful.
