Starter For Ten

Starter For Ten is an idea by Wayne Hemingway (and a good one at that – with a catchy name!), developed in conjunction with Gateshead Council, which transformed a redundant building in the heart of Gateshead into a thriving creative cluster for small start-ups. It was one of the UK’s first schemes that offered rent-free space and access to business development support to give young creative entrepreneurs a well-deserved leg-up, and in doing so, acted as a catalyst for growth in the local creative sector and revived a dwindling town centre.
