Great Levelling Up Fund news for four regeneration projects

Great Levelling Up Fund news yesterday for two seafront regeneration projects HemingwayDesign have played a key role in, a project we kick-started some time ago, and for a town we have been working in for a decade.

Cleethorpes / North East Lincolnshire will be awarded over £18 million for a transformational regeneration of its seafront and town centre. This includes rejuvenating the historic market square and regenerating Pier Gardens.

The city of Bangor / Northern Ireland will undergo a huge £9.8 million transformation to create new waterfront gardens with spaces for events and activities, as well as helping to unlock the wider regeneration of the area.

Weston-super-Mare has been awarded £19.9m to revamp the town centre and seafront including The Tropicana, whose international profile was raised by Banksy’s Dismaland and the more recently SEE MONSTER project, and will be expanding and enhancing the events space to create an attractive, 8,000 capacity venue.

And finally, congrats to the Eden Project team and Lancaster City Council for £50 million to re-imagine Morecambe’s seafront as a seaside resort for the 21st Century, inspiring a sense of wonder and connection to the natural world, drawing thousands of new visitors to this lovely seaside resort every year.
